Library

In MAN library you can find both its books and the ones of Associazione Nazionale per Aquileia. We especially collected monographs and magazines about Roman Aquileia and its territory. Our library is especially precious for all those students, researchers or simply passionate people who want to focus on Aquileia, its history, and its museum.

The library is located on the first floor of the direction department, and it follows these opening hours:

Mon.-Thur.: 9 am-1 pm / 2 pm-4.30 pm

Tue.-Wed.-Fri. : 9 am-1 pm

 Please remind:

• You need to fill out the registration form before entering the library
• Check the availability of the book you are looking for with our library staff before coming
• It’s an open shelf library: our staff will take care of putting books back off the shelves
• At the moment, neither loan nor interlibrary loan are available
• Pictures and books’ reproductions need to follow the rules of both law and museum, please ask our staff to help you
• You need our direction department authorization to use both scanners and digital cameras 

La biblioteca del Museo non aderisce al momento ad alcun polo bibliotecario specifico, a livello locale o nazionale, e non dispone quindi di un catalogo in rete ad accesso pubblico (OPAC). Nella sala di lettura è tuttavia a disposizione degli utenti un catalogo cartaceo in corso di aggiornamento, tramite il quale reperire la collocazione della maggior parte dei volumi conservati: si invitano gli studenti e gli studiosi che intendono frequentare la biblioteca per studio e ricerca a contattare con congruo anticipo il referente, dott.ssa Elena Braidotti (elena.braidotti@cultura.gov.it; tel. 0431-91035), al fine di poter essere meglio indirizzati e seguiti nel reperimento e nella consultazione dei volumi.

Archives

Pictures Archive 

Museo archeologico Nazionale di Aquileia’s pictures archive is located in our direction department, in Via Roma 1, and you can enter there during the department opening hours.

You need the authorization of our director to enter and consult our pictures archive.

L’utente autorizzato deve inoltre concordare, con congruo anticipo, il calendario e le modalità di visita con il referente per l’archivio (museoarcheoaquileia@cultura.gov.it; +39 0431-91035).

Maps Archive

Museo archeologico Nazionale di Aquileia’s pictures archive is located in our direction department, in Via Roma 1, and it’s open from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 1 pm.

Our maps archive is divided into two areas:

• The historical archive, che comprende materiale documentale relativo alll’Imperial Regio Museo dello Stato in Aquileja, per il periodo che va dalla sua istituzione fino al primo conflitto mondiale (scarica il sommario dell’Armadio I e dell’Armadio II).
• The draws archive, that collects all the archaeological and planning documents.

We are reorganizing and digitizing both those archives. We are also uploading a database about the maps archive, and it is going to be consultable via Intranet. You need the authorization of our director to enter and consult our maps archive.
